Choose one team you can study carefully. A team you can observe and interview is recommended, but not required. You can choose your current workplace or another work team. Other options include a classroom, school, leadership team, church team, family team, sports team, social team or neighborhood team.
Consider all the topics we have covered during this course. Carefully analyze the effectiveness of the team and write a report that explains what you learned about this team. Some questions to guide your research and writing are below.
Your writing should be 2-3 pages long size 12 font double spaced. Please use a word processing program to type your work and submit the file. Follow all the requirements for course writing.
Consider these questions as you analyze your team:
What are the team’s goals or purposes? Do all members agree on this purpose?
How does the team handle conflict?
Explain how the team communicates with members.
How does the team work together to improve itself?
How does the team organize?
How does the team measure its effectiveness?
Do any team members stand out? Who and Why?

Building Effective Teams
Teams are the backbone of any given organization. Organizations have higher chances of succeeding when their employees work as a cohesive unit. Success arises because good teamwork facilitates cooperation, which occurs when the team’s overall impact is greater than the sum of individual contributions. A team can incorporate different viewpoints, experiences, and capabilities to solve complex problems, generating new ideas and solutions that may be beyond the scope of any single individual (Scudamore). Besides improving organizational performance, good teamwork benefits individuals as well. It allows for mutual support and learning and a sense of community and dedication. A company I worked for recently had the most effective marketing team I have ever come across. The team had clear goals, structured communication and conflict resolution methods, and well-established methods for measuring effectiveness.
The main goal of the marketing team was to increase customer value. The company and the team agreed that the marketing discourse had progressed beyond simply expanding the market. Nowadays, it is more pertinent than ever for a company to please its existing customers, keep the people on whom the business relies happy, and, whenever possible, assist them in promoting the business. Satisfied customers will not only buy from a company again but will also recommend it to their friends and colleagues. Everybody on the team was committed to this goal because they all agreed that it was critical for the organization.
Because the marketing team was very diverse, conflict was not unavoidable, and there were occasions when the members would disagree. However, the team had effective ways of resolving disputes.
