According to ScienceDaily 2026, Entertainment is a form of activity that holds the attention and interest of an audience, or gives pleasure and delight. Usually, the audience do not participate. It has been part of our culture from time immemorial. Sometimes it is even difficult to separate entertainment from culture. While going up as a young lady in Africa, entertainment was a major part of our daily activity. Back then, entertainment meant siting together with the rest of the family while listening to stories about our parents’ “youth” days as they would call it.
Stress has become a major part of our lives and one of the ways to manage stress is to relax. Entertainment is a means of relaxing or unwinding after a stressful day. Although it is more than just sitting in the living room while listening to old people tell stories of their childhood, the objective remains the same. There are various ways of being entertained these days, for example, we can decide to sit in front of the television to see a movie or choose to go to a cinema.
