Dear Professor,
My name is ….. I am originally from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I lived there until my college and then moved with my family to New Jersey two years back for my education. I am in the fourth semester of Mechanical Engineering. I am captivated by the beauty of nature. I love snow and that often made me sad as we don’t have rain in Saudi Arabia. I enjoy talking to people. I love exploring and discovering. I am a lover of Art.
As English is not my native language it happens to be the ticket punches I need for graduation, hence the reason I am here. It is quite hard for me to write and communicate with my teachers and classmates so I have taken a number of English Language courses to improve my grammar and vocabulary as I grew up thinking I wasn’t much good at English. My earlier memories of reading and writing go back to primary school. I remember I read the Harry Potter series and eventually the books of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle due to my mysterious nature. I had always enjoyed reading for pleasure and continue to read mystery novels when I can find time. Challenging reading and writing know-hows would have to be memoirs of high school English. I learnt how to brainstorm in high school and continue using this today. However, one thing remains the same; my surroundings often distract me. If there were other people around me, it’s difficult for me to focus on my work. I have to have the house quiet when I compose any writing assignments and this is the reason I want to take this course as I feel that it will help me in my educational endeavours.
