Basic Fishing Tackle
There are many accessories we require before fishing as listed below;
Hooks –they come in an assortment of sizes and styles, and they must be sharp to be efficient. You must bend down the barb if you planning to release the catch to make it easier to remove the hook. Several species of fish need a different size of hook; thus it is your role to know the species you want to find and the nature of bait you are using if you are not sure you can ask the seasoned angler or bait and tackle dealer for suggestions. The next important thing you need is the fishing line; it comes in pound-test, (line strength and size). Larger lines are stronger. Six pound test line is more flexible but not stronger as 12 pound test line. Fishing line should match with the rod and reel capability and species of fish you intend to find. The use of heavier line or higher pound test than the required may reduce the number of hits because heavier line is more visible to fish.
Sinkers are weights used to cast bait, take the bait to the bottom, hold it in place. Sinkers are designed in different sizes and shapes and are used for different types of fishing techniques. They vary in size from BB split shot to five pounds, roughly short of a cannon ball. In most cases, you will set your sinker four to eight inches above your hook to allowed live bait to look natural to the fish. Bobbers, floats' and corks are used for many reasons. They preserve your bait where the fish are biting, keep bait off the base, and they tell when you’re getting a bite or strike by bobbing up and down. Bobbers come in different forms from circular, to pencil or quill, to leaping and elongated. Nearly All bobbers are spring-loaded and attach to your fishing line with a clip. Some are joined directly to your line or enable the line to slip wholly through for slip-cork fishing.
