Fracking is a process involving a liquid being injected into the ground under high pressure to force open existing fissures to extract oil or gas. This method is commonly in drilling petroleum. It has made it easy for energy companies to extract natural gas and oil from deep reserves. This method involves pumping chemicals, hot water, and sand mixtures into the reserves under high pressure to fracture the rock formations and create passageways for oil and gas to flow through. Unconventional gas development using high-volume hydraulic fracturing has been talked about in our state for almost a decade. Fracking is embraced because it produces clean and cheap energy, creates jobs, and helps the climate. Loris studied the climate changes that could be brought as a result of fracking.
