Having a Learning Disability
Two of the numerous difficulties I have encountered over the years are my sluggish reading pace and how long it takes me to comprehend what I have read fully. I have also struggled with a variety of other issues. When I was younger, I struggled with spelling and never felt confident in my ability to perform well in school. I was advised that if I wanted to succeed in life, I should take risks and push myself beyond my comfort zone. I have never felt less confident in myself than I did at that very moment. I saw it as an opportunity to push my abilities and reach greater heights of accomplishment because I have a disability. I have accepted myself as a person and have also accepted my impairment, which I now see as a distinctive aspect of who I am. I was able to spread the word that there are no boundaries to where you can go if you put in the work and are committed. I concluded that I had a learning problem as a result of this.
When I was younger, I struggled a lot with reading and writing topics. I also lacked self-confidence at school, so I would make fun of myself and treat other students with contempt. My older sister had accompanied me the entire journey. She gave me the direction and training I needed to learn the alphabet, numbers, and colours. If things did not go according to my plan, I felt anxious and angry with myself. However, I am certain that my sister will be able to convey information to me in a way that I can understand. We would read books together when I was having problems with my reading so that I might improve. She made learning more pleasant and attainable for me. Working with a tutor made me understand how critical it is to increase my understanding of the subject in the areas where I performed poorly.
