Objectives of This Assignment

Your literature review should discuss the current state of sociological knowledge concerning one of the following subtopics. Your review may more narrowly focus within a subtopic (e.g., The impact of social capital on educational opportunities), and/or intersect between topics (e.g., Gender difference in social capital and employment).
1) Social Capital, Social Mobility and Economic Opportunities. How does social capital influence one’s economic opportunities and social mobility? How does social capital affect employment, entrepreneurship, and/or educational attainment? Do different types of social capital work differently? How so, and why is it?
2) Social Capital and Deviance. How do social capital influence crime, delinquency and victimization? What is the mechanism through which social capital affect them?
3) Race, Gender, Class and Social Capital. How do the formation and the impact of social capital vary across people of different demographics? What accounts for these variations? Instead of discussing variability between groups, you can focus on the characteristics of social capital formation/working among a particular group of people.

Introduction
Through social interactions, people can form networks, connections, or relationships in a community. Consequently, these entities help form values, enhance confidence, and provide support for cultural norms and practices in a given setting; as a result, social capital can be accessed to help individuals achieve success in their social and economic lives.
