Corporate social responsibility has the potential to address the critical issues of labor and human rights problems in the Global Garment Industry CITATION Ray07 \l 1033 (Broomhill, 2007). The primary aim of CSR is to enhance the image of an organization to the external environment. No reputation can be built in case the human resource of an organization violates the fundamental rights of the personnel are overlooked. The CSR for any organization should begin from the internal structures, which include upholding the labor and human rights policies. These two systems have been addressed to be fundamental tasks of firms that mind about profit orientation as well as the well-being of its personnel or the next of kin of their staff.
According to Mullerat and Brennan (2011), the fundamental issues that must be addressed to enable the company to meet the international human rights obligation include enhancing of ethics, compliance to the accepted code of conduct CITATION UNH12 \l 1033 (UNHR, 2012). GGI has to establish ethical obligations that are in line with the international standards of human rights. Sensitive issues such as employee relations should also adhere to the articulations in the international standards. Employee relations within the organization should adequately address issues such as discrimination, sexual harassment, occupational health, and safety.
Stakeholders have a greater role to play in enhancing the image and obligation of any organization including the Global Garment Industry (Mullerat and Brennan, 2011). Firms, suppliers, unions, labor rights campaigns and other stakeholders can influence the decisions the company makes regarding the profits as well as moral obligation.
