History of California.
California is a country with a rich history in the way it was brought to the establishment. Indians were the first group of people to occupy the land and they had a vast knowledge and understanding of their natural resources which has seen the country become a golden state. The forefathers fought hard during the colonial period and brought forth how the ideas of race and culture influenced the imposition of Spanish colonialism and that of the early American colonization in California. The Indians, therefore, capitalized on their strong points to make it hard for the colonialists to invade their land and take control of it over due to their race, land, and hierarchy in leadership and economic status.
“Race,” refers to important divisions of the human race. Bringing together culture and physical traits were important during ancient America time. It helped the establishment of the colonialism in their native land and the introduction of slavery of American Indians and the Africans, and the same identities within the unequal and social diversity of the Europeans. Well established ideas and prejudices came together with the purpose of land control and change in labor which looking and non-generalization of non-Europeans supported it. Americans, Indians, and Africans did not term themselves as unified before colonization. It is the Europeans who supported the idea of racial distinctions by using legal force, philosophical, and scientific legitimacy. The natives, on the other hand, were termed as “red” and “Indian,” whereas freed people and slaves acknowledged those who were “African” and “colored,” to think of more broad personalities and put together a resistance which was more successful to Euro-American communities. Origin, purpose, and the importance of “racial” inequalities were questions which were beyond transatlantic debate during the understanding age and were important because they led to the formation of newly independent United States.[Lee M.
