Introduction
Several investigative analyses have made strong claims of the presence of other sources of the Mexican drug cartel arm supply apart from the United States of America. This study intends to confirm and validate the claims in a more informed ground, based on a study of the historic accounts of the events that have unfolded and possibly led to the supply of weapons to the drug cartels. The special focus of this study is to measure the intensity or the contribution of other countries apart from the United States. Through studies, any country that is found to have participated in the exchange of fire arms either directly or indirectly, confirms the claims and the validity of our conclusive remarks. For example, if we discover that Israel through any military operation passed on the ownership of a certain amount of military fire arms to their Mexican counterparts, whether it was directly or indirectly, we will conclude that indeed, the sources of the weapons supplied to the Mexican Drug Cartel are other countries, not the US. On the contrary, if our study fails to establish any other reasonable source, then our thesis statement automatically fails the test. Of course from the inherent view of the matter, the Direct Commercial Sales was an open and legitimate agreement between USA and Mexico. The qualifier question for all the hypothetical notions is whether the USA initiated any other process beyond the Direct Commercial Sales that could probably have raised ethical and legal issues.
Background
The topic arises from controversial blames of the United States government for being the leading force behind the supply of fire arms to the Drug Cartels in the Mexican territories. The magnitude of the supply of weapons to the drug cartels in Mexico is felt in the operation of notorious gang groupings in the Mexican drug areas. Our guideline in this research is an exploration of two major hypotheses:
First Hypothesis:
Most of the Drug Cartels in weapons did not get the fire arms and any other form of weapons from the United States of America, with a very minor percentage of the weapons could be traced from or could be attributed to the United States origin.
Second Hypothesis:
The larger part of the weapons with the Mexican Drug Cartels came from the Asian countries and a minor percentage came from corrupt deals by the local Mexican Government officials dealing with the black market as well as acts of theft.
Discussion of the Thesis
This study is important and is justified as a research topic considering the feeling that the general public has, that the most of the weapons owned by the Drug Cartels in Mexico originated from the United States of America. This study serves the purpose of providing an informed ground of discussion the matter and complementing the information deficiency that was created by poor reporting based on personal prejudice and political mileage. It also exposes the illegal scandals that were perpetrated by the Operation Fast and Furious. This discussion would probably reveal the exact source of the weapons before they get their way into the hands of the Mexican Cartels. The United States of America through the direct sales agreement conducted a commercial process of exchanging fire arms with the Mexican government for their military wing to use for Defense. The USA DoS provided the Mexican military with weapons such as rifles to use for fighting the very notorious drug cartels such as the Los Zetas. The government of Mexico and the press have continued to lay blame the United Sates for the violent war on narcotic drugs and weapons in Mexico. The Mexican government has blamed the US for the deaths of at least 35000 citizens as a result of the weapons. A diplomatic communication from the media disapproves the Mexican government on this point. It comes out with evidences to show that at least 90 percent of the weapons that the drug cartels own come from Central parts of America but not the United States of America.
