Exercise 3.1

Collecting User Profile Data

Overview

In this exercise, you will create users on a Windows 7 workstation and then run the Windows Easy Transfer program to collect the user profile data that you will migrate to Windows 8.

Mindset

Windows Easy Transfer enables you to save user profile data to a file on a network share or a removable medium and then import it to another computer. You can use this method to perform either a side-by-side migration or a wipe-and-load migration.
