Quantitative Application in Criminal Justice (Math Problem Sample)
The assignment goal was to apply statistics in the field of criminal justice to develop relationship or cause-effect between behaviors and crimes. The learning objective was to apply significance and confidence intervals between variables provided by the instructor. One way of measuring association was computing chi-square which is showcase statistical significant relationship between two variables. Another method demonstrated in the task is the Cramer’s V test which ranges from 0.00 to 1.00 where higher values indicate stronger relationships. The extra credit objective was to demonstrate application of SPSS in computing association of variables using chi-square statistic, phi and Cramer’s V tests.
