Literature Review Task Student's Name Institutional Affiliation Literature Review Task A literature review contains an account of the research conducted in the past, and it can help in clarifying the scope of the research. It can include moving away from the areas already studied and utilizing the research insights from those areas. If there are gaps, they need to be identified, and they can become a good candidate for the research focus. After reading and reviewing the literature, the areas of potential interest can include in-home mental services and their study (Jansson, Sonnander & Wiesel, 2005), as well as studying the factors that can help in providing a more holistic account of the psychological and psychiatric treatment (Pacheco et al., 2022). There is also a need to explore social services providers' education and its role in treating the affected people with mental disorders. If the standard of care is raised, it can help in treating many persons with mental illnesses at an early stage, and it can help in reducing overall suffering. The role of substance use can also be studied as patients with mental disorders may either acquire psychological illness because of the use of illicit substances or may develop a dependence on substances as a coping mechanism (Senreich, Steen & Ashenberg Straussner, 2022). However, they are the least likely to get a positive response. Instead, there is a need for medical treatment to resolve the issues and not substances. Better cooperation between social service organizations and healthcare providers, particularly for mental health services (Fleming et al., 2023). It can help in addressing the patients that may slip in between the healthcare system and the social service providers and the lack of cooperation between them. Upon exploring the literature, the research question can be refined by adding the elements studied, such as substance use and, most importantly, the in-home mental health services and the impact on patient outcomes. These factors can play a significant role in the overall treatment outcomes. There is a need to probe these areas in the research as these areas are found to be more appealing for scientific study.
