Abstract
The motivation for this dissertation represents the fact that the digital age has ushered in a new era of consumer convenience in terms of the presentation and availability of products and services using e-commerce. This modern shifting of marketing and selling services that are based on customer-centric principles represent an electronic medium where the size of the business is less important than its ability to meet customer demands, and satisfaction for what they are seeking. This is the core of this dissertation and e-commerce that delves into the impact and exploration of the adoption of e-commerce by UK SMEs.
The above contains the core issue that this dissertation seeks to solve which represents uncovering the varied business strategy, operational, theoretical and other inhibitors UK SME face in adopting e-commerce use. This encompasses a broad range of administrative, resource, competitive and owner/founder aspects as e-commerce is an arena where the successes achieved in running a local small business differ from presenting it on the larger electronic stage that is fraught with experienced competitors a localized SME is facing for the first time.
