Jean-Paul Sartre
Jean-Paul Sartre was a well-known French philosopher of the 20th century. Apart from philosophy, he was famous for his novel writing and dramatist activities CITATION Jea04 \l 1033 (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy). There were some interesting facts about Jean-Paul Sartre. Being a philosopher, his ideas were full of the action taking abilities of an individual and the execution of actions in real life. His views were focused on the truth and freedom of work which distinguished him from other philosophers CITATION Sar12 \l 1033 (Sartre). Influenced from his work, he was honoured with the Nobel Prize in the year 1964 in Literature. However, he refused to take it as accepting it was against his principles as a writer. During his school days, Jean-Paul Sartre was caught for his mischievous behaviour to one of his professors. Later on, he got terminated from the school for his behaviour. He was known for his work based on existentialism CITATION Sar12 \l 1033 (Sartre). The belief behind his philosophy of “existentialism” was that essence succeeds existence. He stated this with respect to human beings and their actions CITATION Sar12 \l 1033 (Sartre). He imagined humans to be free and responsible for their own action which causes anxiety. In this way, Sartre chose a different approach to the concept of free will. He stated that total freedom brings in total responsibility CITATION Sar12 \l 1033 (Sartre). He discussed how freedom is a gift and a curse as well. Sartre also stated that a person becomes conscious of his existence only when he finds himself being perceived by others perspective CITATION Sar12 \l 1033 (Sartre). He witnessed how humans become cognitive due to “others”....
