After its release in 2011, the video How to Love by Lil Wayne has been acclaimed for bringing the importance of love for children in their childhood. The video song depicts the real warmth of love that is given to a child in all the stages of its life and how that love is essential for the well-being of a child. The almost 5-minute song starts very sadly with the lady in an abortion clinic and almost had an abortion but upon realizing the fortune of being a parent, she changes her mind about the abortion and ran away and eventually after few months gave birth to the baby. Lil Wayne again goes on to show that even though there are some controversies as well as pitfalls about the loving relations with the lady, the child’s love is still not affected, and it is well cared for when she finds a good environment for love. Nathan describes the video as the most sentimental song from Lil Wayne in the manner he brings out a woman who had most things except for a man’s love (Nathan, How to Love). I am in agreement with Nathan’s assessment of the video that the lady has not been able to find the true meaning of love. This is portrayed in the manner in which she feels insecure about the men who look at her but there is a hidden message that the video song tries to portray, children are supposed to be loved to a very great extent in their early stages of life.
In life, all individuals need a loving and affectionate environment as it leads to a better course of life for a child in future life. There are confirmed scientific studies that hold the position of the significance of exhibiting loving-kindness practice and thereby showering love to the individuals that you love. When the contrary environment is present for a child, that is an abusive, non-loving environment, a child’s future life will be affected to a great level. In Lil Wayne’s song How to Love, he depicts a girl who experiences an abusive environment at the hands of her mother’s new lover since her father is in prison. The girl is molested and sexuality assaulted by her stepfather instead of being loved by him as well as showing her affection. This kind of an environment has profound effects on the life the girl decides to live after this experience. In the course of her stay in the new environment, she gets to understand the what is the meaning of love. She gets to understand herself and what she wants in life, and this could be seen when she starts performing well in school and respecting herself consequently. In school, she talks with a different boy as opposed to her earlier life and after studies she graduates and has a successful life. These are some of the advantages that accrue as a result of a loving and an affectionate environment for an individual in life.
