The process of running an organization revolves various factors that articulate together for there to be success in their endeavor. There are stakeholders who determine the future of the organization by outlining their mission, vision and goals that have to be met over a given period. On the other hand, there are managers who are involved in the day to day activities to see the company in operation (Thompson, Strickland, & Gamble, 2008, Chapter 9). Among their duties is to supervise their employees by assigning tasks and monitoring their progress. They are also involved in creating working strategies that are to be followed by the employees. It is the planning process and execution that defines a successful organization to a failing one.
A new strategy brings new ways of doing things that can impact on the way people do their daily business. These activities define their culture and traditions that have been there for long. Conflicts will always emerge in such instances because people are reluctant to change. On the other hand, it is the duty of the manager to come up with a strategy that will attract minimum conflict and measures to combat it effectively (Thompson, Strickland, & Gamble, 2008, Chapter 10). It is regarded as one of the easily available resources, but finding the best person for the job turns out to be the main challenge.
The relationship between the manager and employees influences how long they are likely to continue working together. When the manager treats his/her employee’s right by employing strategies to retain them, they will be there to support the company. This will be their new home and will always strive to be part of it (Thompson, Strickland, & Gamble, 2008, Chapter 10). Some of the strategies to retain good employees include better working conditions, good compensation in terms of finance and time. When these issues are addressed, the employees will create a good rapport and they will always look out for each other’s interest because they know their affairs affect them directly or indirectly.
A manager should incorporate various action agendas when executing strategies. He/she should be a leader who can command change without necessarily attracting conflicts from other stakeholders (Thompson, Strickland, & Gamble, 2008, Chapter 11). Such a leader should have a reputation for success, so that employees can exercise absolute trust on the decision made. The organizations should also install system that work in hand with their traditions and culture. The new technology should not be a plan to undermine other people’s duties and responsibilities in as much as the behavioral structure is concerned.
