Response to the Neural Diathesis-Stress Model (Reaction Paper Sample)
The neural diathesis-stress model is that stress works as a factor to worsen the trigger/ symptoms of schizophrenia. The stresses causes the HPA axis to open and that causes the brain structure to change. There is also a decrease of cortisol levels which can lead to increased issues with schizophrenia. Since schizophrenia is caused by stress, the means that it will be able to be treated similarly to how we treat anxiety disorders. After the initial assessment then a treatment plan can be determined, and it is often based on what symptoms are present during that assessmenT.

I am afraid I disagree with the student that the ability to register for a firearm should be taken away based on a diagnosis of neural diathesis-stress. This is because neural diathesis-stress is not a mental illness and should not be used as a criterion for determining who is allowed to register for a firearm. Therefore, using it as a criterion for deciding who is allowed to register for a firearm is wrong because it does not consider the individual's feelings or experiences.
The neural diathesis-stress model is a theory that proposes that certain people have a greater risk of developing schizophrenia as a result of psychological factors such as stress caused by changes in the amount of cortisol produced in the body. Some people may have a genetic predisposition to mental illness, which environmental stresses may activate. This propensity can be passed down from generation to generation.
When it comes to doing background checks on people with mental illness, I feel that it is necessary to consider the individual's
