Executive Summary
Ethical concerns regarding employee treatment and discontentment in organizations continue to be at the forefront of employee unions. With employers aware of the strenuous trends to land careers in the present working environment, the remedy to employee mistreatment mirrors to be far from being found. Apple Corporation an American multinational technology firm has been one of the many organizations which have been reported in these scandals recently. From the 2010 suicidal cases, Apple was of recent implicated by the BBC Panorama documentaries for significant breaches of employee working conditions in one of its Chinese firms at Pegatron. As per the investigations, findings draw on the scale of either the ethics of Utilitarianism or virtue ethics to which it was ascertained that the Company was in variation with the theories of Utilitarianism ethics.

The quest to gain substantial profit margins from today’s business environment is superseding the ethical considerations in the business environment (Renouard, 2011). Unfortunately, the desires to realize this through production has been implemented to the detriment of families’ breadwinners (workers) who have been coerced to work strenuously with no work leaves and rests and at times no comp times. The Chinese Pegatron Apple Factory can attest to these claims based on the 2014 reports that were aired in a documentary on BBC Panorama (Bilton, 2014). Accordingly, the incidents of this replicate many other unraveled tales that today’s personnel endure at the expense of their health being in the name of earning a living. This paper investigates the reported ethical dilemmas of Apple in its China factory and their rulings to the ethics of utilitarianism.

Apple is one of the leading American conglomerates known in the manufacture of leading communication technology. The Cupertino headquartered multinational is prominently renowned for technology development, designing, computer software, Smartphone's, iphone, Mac personal computers, Apple TV digital media player and many more. The multinational’s major software's include; iTunes media players, IOS operating systems, Safari web browsers, macOS, and iWork productivity suites (Mogg, 2013). The company was founded by Steve Jobs, Ronald Wayne, and Steve Wozniak with a primary idea of selling Wozniak Computers in early 1976.
