The company was started by Michael Dell in 1984 while pursuing his studies at the University of Texas. At first, the company specialized in the manufacture of personal computers. Since then, it has expanded to a multinational corporation offering products such as personal computers, computer peripherals, servers, network switches, cameras, software, data storage devices, and HDTVs. The consumer base for Dell Inc. includes government agencies, businesses, and individual consumers in the United States, the Middle East, Europe, the Asia Pacific region, and Africa.
