The research method used in conducting research in order to solve a research problem influences outcomes in different ways. Since research is almost entirely based on coming up with research questions relative to a testable phenomenon then finding the solution to the problems defined by the research questions, it is important to establish a research goal (Dane, 2011). There are different research methods such as qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods. While qualitative methods play part in uncovering tens in thoughts and opinions through interviews, the quantitative method employs a systematic approach in which statistical data is collected for analysis. Mixed methods, on the other hand, combine them all. It is important to note that not all research problems can be solved effectively by any of the methods. The topic of this study, Factors Affecting Success Rates of Newly Started Restaurant Businesses, happens to do just fine will all these three common methods. A goal of this study is to explore how quantitative methodology might help address the problem at hand by responding to research questions. In this study, therefore, the main purpose lies in exploring the factors affecting success rates on newly started restaurant business through quantitative research methodology.
