Anticipatory Change
During one of the best sales run we have ever witnessed in the company for four straight quarters, the company management seeks to divest to other products it believes will pick up and propel revenues. The company currently deals with PPE products development. The healthcare business has seen abnormal growth in the previous four quarters, never witnessed before because of the pandemic. But everyone knows it won't last for long.
Therefore, currently, there is a change planned in careful, purposeful, incremental steps. It's to take a maximum of a financial year and introduce new products like hygiene soaps, laboratory pathology centres, medical recycling and fumigation services. This has also come through acquisitions and mergers with other like-minded players in the market.
Reactive Change
With high vaccination rates ongoing, the company has ventured into partnerships with Vaccination giants like Pfizer to offer contractual services that aid in vaccine storage mechanisms. Additionally, the company also gives structural support to government agencies and health workers providing the inoculations in communities. But with declining numbers of unvaccinated people and recent guidelines that shield citizens from the mask mandate, the company sees the immediate need to use its brand power and move into the expansion of the hygiene business arm.
Crisis Change
I can only envisage such a situation in the event the hygiene, medical recycling and fumigation business doesn't show results for several quarters, and the existing partnerships are vacated or brought to a close. With contained new Covid 19 variants, low infection rates, reduced PPE gear purchases, reduced cash flow and strained resources, the company must act!

Anticipatory change is the most effective. It enables the team to focus on creativity and the foresight model of growth and leadership. Motivation is high in ready change. The sense of direction, intensity exists within the feeling of being on the right path. The coming change is seen as a challenge for innovation rather than an inevitable outcome.

Anticipatory change happens at times when the objectives of the vision are being met. So whatever new approach that is put forward comes baked from the point of success and market dynamics understanding. At that point, a vast majority of the company workforce is attaining their team goals, and high job satisfaction levels are evident.
Discuss your readiness and the organization's readiness for change. Refer to the three barriers (failure to see, failure to move, loss to finish).
The company's readiness to embrace change is plausible and evident. There is broad consensus that the winning streak won't go on forever. We also agree as a company that the pandemic has enabled more general thinking. We have then to address newer opportunities that could be but from the expertise gathered over the harrowing 18 months or so and seek to create long-lasting business partnerships that could propel the company for years to come, building on the momentum. Through proper communication and excellent sales results, I must say that the workforce morale is buoyant.
Additionally, the question is on what will drive sales in the years to come? The company has agreed to retrain its staff, rather than hire externally, to reassign the employees to the newly created company divisions mentioned above. So I can confidently say that there isn't a failure to see. It remains to be seen when the actual reshuffle shall happen and how its execution of strategy shall be rolled out.
