Improvements Related to the Use of Robots in the Surgical Field (Research Paper Sample)

Instructions:

This paper addresses the following Thesis: The use of robots in the surgical field have improved with surgical workload, precision, and patient care.
By using this technology, surgeons can do more difficult surgical operations with more accuracy, control, and adaptability than they could before. Because the surgical procedures are performed via a small incision, robotic surgery is also considered minimally invasive (Buettner et al., 2020). An investigation of robotic surgery's effect on health care delivery is the focus of this research. First-generation medical robotics systems demonstrated the utility of mechanical devices in surgery. Engineers utilized their voices to guide the laparoscopic camera's location, making it an improved system.
For the Telepresence system of SRI Green, Intuitive Surgical arose with what is now known as the da Vinci system. The ZEUS operating system was reintroduced to the medical community after modifications and updates. Robotic surgery has a bright future because human beings continuously look for new and better methods to do complicated medical operations. The next robotics systems generation might be expected to use the advantages of present robotics systems while also minimizing the risks and drawbacks. In order to do operations from their control panel, surgeons will be allowed to navigate patients from a distance away from the robots on their operating tables.
Surgeons may now do surgery from anywhere globally, thanks to robot technologies. High radiation levels are not a problem for robots since they do not have to contend with weariness or tremble in a surgeon's hands. Remote procedures save patients money and give them more options for where they may get therapy, particularly when it comes to where they can get it. The dependability, precision, and accuracy of robotic systems are among the many advantages. A surgeon's expertise and skill level running a robotics system plays a significant role in achieving these results. The system is set up to minimize the consequences of surgical errors, but a surgeon's lack of competence, particularly with electronic equipment, may put patients' lives at risk.

Introduction
There is a gradual shift in the healthcare business due to technological advances. With innovations, patients are given access to safe and high-quality medical treatment. Robotic surgery is an example of this kind of progress. Robotic surgery will be defined, and its history will be traced in the first section of the article. A section on the benefits and drawbacks of robotic surgery will follow this one, so stay tuned.
Robotic Surgery
Karl Capek is credited with coining the word "robot" in his writings; thus, if you want to understand the history of robotic surgery, you have to start there. 'Robota,' a Czech word for forced labor, is where Capek got the idea for his phrase (Lane, 2018). This phrase has changed throughout the years and now refers to machine-based, repetitive work. Ironically, the healthcare business has been sluggish in adopting new technologies that may improve patient care. Many individuals are still learning about the technology and do not want to risk endangering patients' lives by employing a gadget that might harm them (Lane, 2018). There are three basic types of surgical robots: master-slave, semi-active, and active systems. As long as the surgeon is in charge of them, active systems mainly operate independently (Lane, 2018). Active systems, such as the ROBODOC and PROBOT, may also carry out pre-programmed activities.
To balance the robotic system's pre-programmed aspect, semi-active systems give surgeons more control over the operation. Due to its lack of pre-programmed and autonomous parts, the formal robotic system for master-slave is significantly distinct from another two (Lane, 2018). As part of a formal master-slave robotics system, hand motions are relayed through laparoscopic surgical equipment to provide the master more control. When it pertains to the first robotic surgery in the modern period, several writers' points of view diverge. Nevertheless, alongside this, most of them believe that Kwoh deserves to be recognized in this manner; (Lane, 2018).
