Abstract
The ADHD condition does not have a cure even the so much has been researched about it for the purposes of cure development. Several factors lead to the development of this condition for example when one is inflicted with an injury or is suffering from another disease the risks for the development of illness increases. Furthermore, this situation is typically brought about by prenatal underdevelopment. ADHD condition that commonly affect school going children can only be treated with medication that do not cure but just reduce the severity of the diseases. In addition to the medication and therapy can be used as it works correctly, especially where the two are combined (Goldstein & Goldstein, 1990). Through this intervention programs, the individual can improve in terms of their concentration, the pulse of their blood, and the need to know more so as to better themselves. As such this essay will critically analyze the implementation methods used to curb the severity of the ADHD condition.
Behavioral modification therapy is a tool that is used to control the condition of ADHD mainly affecting the children. The setting for this project involves a visit to schools so as to identify those children suffering from ADHD. The school is an appropriate setting as there are significant numbers of children hence, increasing the chance of identifying those who have ADHD. Since this is a research project consent form is developed which is to be signed by the parents, or guardians as an agreement to allow their children to be used in the research project. As such only those children whom their parents will sign the consent form will be utilized in the research program since the study will involve children who cannot are too young to decide for themselves.
Behavioral modification is an intervention program that requires time patience and determination for better output to be achieved (Kolko et.al., 1999). As such this project will need a lot of time which will be distributed in four parts. The first part that will take one week will be time allocated for the purpose of identifying and acquiring the approval of the children to be used for the study. The second part that will also take two week will involve the training programs where the parent who agrees to sign the consent form will be trained on how to carry out the behavioral modification therapy. After the training, a total of one month and one week will be used for valid results to be obtained. Finally, the last part of the time which will take one month will involve the evaluation of the responses of the children to the therapy which will later repeat after three weeks. This research project will take a total of 3 months.
A lot of resources need to be employed in this study, for example, parents manpower, the assistance of the teachers, time and financial capital are all needed. The parents and teachers will need to be used in the study since they are close to the children and can easily influence them. Moreover, the children need someone to guide through the process of behavioral modification. Among the main strategies involved in behavioral changes in the children is rewarding them when they improve (Barkley, 1997). As such, these rewards need to be bought or made of which is an important contributing resource in the process. All this strategies used are strenuous; therefore, it may impact the family members negatively. Also, punishment is necessary when the child makes a mistake and at the same time the child should be rewarded for an improvement. The parents and family members at large need to be trained so as to know when to impose the punishment, not to affect the negatively. The main of carrying out this activity is to ensure that the child suffering from ADHD has improved and more so, can socialize with other.
Monitoring of the condition of the children will take place during the period of study. As such different methods of analysis will be used for better results to be obtained. First a questionnaire will be used where the parents, family members and those people close to the child will be required to fill them. The other method to be exploited is a scale where those people close to the child will range the improvement presented by the child out of 10.
The process of delivering the intervention program will involve the use of the people close to the children of whom are required to equip the children with relevant information regarding their condition. As such for these people to deliver information relatively they will be trained on the necessary intervention programs.
Data collection will be done on the regular basis that is after every week and recorded. This data will be managed by the research of the project after which analysis of the done will be done to a certain whether the solution implementation plan was successful or not. The collection of the data will be by observations and orally.
Barriers and challenges during the study will be avoided by employing such methods as keeping records for the resources to be used so as to ensure that they are enough to complete the research project. Also, the cases of lack of cooperation of the respondents will be subject to change in the event of any problems associated.
The implementation plan was successfully done, and the results of the research study were critical, analyzed and recorded. The personnel used a total of 1000$, consumable supplies 520$, equipment 50$, computer related costs 100$.
The goals of the project were realized as a higher percentage of the children having the ADHD condition improved. The children were able to carry out their normal daily activities and improve in terms of concentration. As such this solution should be implemented by the hospitals in addition to the medication (Kidd, 2000).
In conclusion, solution implementation needs to be taken seriously as this condition is relatively severe and cannot be treated. Proper training should be done especially to those people who are to be involved in the project for the purpose of taking care of the children suffering from the ADHD condition.
