this paper talks about europe nationalism. Nationalism refers to identifying with an individual's own country and supporting its interests without bothering or caring about the interests of other nations. There were several forms of European nationalism, such as France Chauvinism, Germany's Kultur, and England's jingoism. This paper will discuss appeasement policy due to Europe Nationalism and comparisons between British negotiations with Hitler and Gandhi in the 1930s. Appeasement was a policy by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain that aimed to promote peace and understanding between the UK and Germany before World War II. Can note that nationalism led to the formation of countries, states, groups of people that protected their common interests. During this period, the Nazi people, being led by Adolf Hitler, arranged a riot in Germany against the Jews, referred to as Kristallnacht because of the broken glass.
The Germans programmed to have Hitler's crest on waiter uniforms and the plates during the state lunch and dinner. During the 19th Century, British Colonial rule known as the Raj was shaken by a former lawyer called Gandhi, who asked Indians to stop buying British end products. In the late 1930s, the National Congress for Indians rekindled their efforts to fight for their Independence which saw Gandhi do the unexpected. He decided to make protests around salt, which the British authorities had taken full control of, forbidding local people from producing salts and selling them, forcing them to buy it at a higher cost. Gandhi was arrested after declaring his intentions to conduct safe demonstrations on the exploitation of salt by the government.
After several weeks, his companions across India decided to illegally harvest the minerals at the seaside, which saw thousands of people being beaten, arrested, and harshly treated by the police officers. Several media outlets started following the movement quoting Gandhi's words that demonized the charges imposed on salt and rebuked the Raj. The impact of the Salt March was quite minor, but Gandhi's Satyagraha had accomplished his main aim of Shaking the British the Foundations of the British Empire (Andrews, 2019). Martin Luther King Junior would give credit to Salt March by citing it in his philosophy that Gandhi had communicated in a wise manner important information that made him known around the world and granted suitable responses. European Nationalism brought about a handful of repercussions as it promoted nationality, peace, a sense of togetherness, and having common interests.
This had both negative and positive impacts as it led to colonization which caused unfair treatment. For instance, the treatment of India and Gandhi by the British was harsh compared to the treatment the British gave to Hitler and Germany.

According to Baradat, an American professor, Nationalism of Europe involves calling on individuals, people, or groups to identify themselves with the nation's groups' interests to support creating a state that will help those interests. This is what transformed Europe. The French revolution significantly contributed to nationalism as it spread ideas of equality and liberty, thus inspiring people worldwide to practice it to achieve their Independence and unity. There were several forms of European nationalism, such as France Chauvinism, Germany's Kultur, and England's jingoism. During the 19th Century, Nationalism contributed hugely to the success of Europe as a whole due to a common national identity. This led to the formation of countries such as Italy and Germany through the unification of various states. The spirit of nationalism was also encouraged due to everyday language, race, religion, inspiration, and aims, shared past experiences, and culture. The following factors played a crucial part in nationalism during the 19th Century; the motives that led to colonialism, the role of press and literature, the role of western education, the rise of intellects in India who discovered their past, and Indians unification through administrative, economic and political reforms. With nationalism, there came along positive and negative effects such as promoting a sense of identity, coalition of people, pride promotion, infringement of other people's rights, conflicts with others, creation of xenophobia which is the fear that someone will take over. Its goals are that every country should govern itself through self-determination free from other people's interference, promotion of political power as a nation, and is an ideal basis for the polity. Despite all this, the nationalism of Europe in England is termed to be different in that it forced it down upon the masses. There was no concept of a British nation before the 18th Century as the region was inhabited by various ethnic groups such as English, Welsh, Scot Irish. This paper will discuss appeasement policy due to Europe Nationalism and comparisons between British negotiations with Hitler and Gandhi in the late 1930s.
They took massive consideration of European Nationalism, resulting in the appeasement policy, the German takeover of Austria, the German takeover of Czechoslovakia, and the Anschluss period and basing facts on the Munich Conference, the first partitioning of Czechoslovakia. Countries like Britain, France, Italy, and Germany scheduled a meeting and agreed to handle Czechoslovakian borders. The following day British Prime Minister the moment Neville Chamberlain met with Adolf Hitler and made him sign a piece of paper that aimed at promoting friendship and a peaceful relationship between England and Germany. Neville flies home, and there is this scene at the airport where Neville, Old Boy, quotes that there will be peace in our time.
