The topic "Why is it necessary for today's society to safeguard global Heritage sites" is crucial because it will be vital in assisting individuals or learners in understanding why they should protect the sites from exploitation or harm. Similarly, the topic is also considered interesting since it would list the sites' importance that individuals were unaware of.
