Organizational structure can be described as the arrangement of tasks and employees within an organization. It depicts the structure of command and authority in the organization (Johnson, 2016). Organizations should strive to set up suitable organizational structures since such structures are entirely instrumental in determining their short-term and long term goals.
Top cruisers should consider adopting the Matrix organization structure. This type of organization structure is quite helpful in scenarios where the organization is large and for organizations that handle complex jobs and projects. As top cruiser plans on developing, the more massive touring class matrix organization structure is best suited. Matrix organizational structure allows the organization to leverage different employees' skills from various departments in completing particular the project (Johnson, 2016). The project team members are selected based on their level of competence and expertise in their various fields of specialization. The entire project is headed by the project manager, who is solely responsible for ensuring the project's successful completion. A successful project is completed on time, all the tasks have been performed, all the company requirements and quality standards have been met, and the project has been completed within its proposed budget. All the organization departments are responsible for sorting out ant technicalities that happen during the project development. Therefore, the Matrix Organization structure enhances teamwork and increases overall project success while reducing costs and minimizing organizational conflicts. Nowadays, organizations are increasingly adopting the matrix organization structure due to its benefits, and it has turned out to be the easiest way of managing business projects.
The successful development of a more extensive touring motorcycle requires absolute goodwill from top cruisers' executive management. It is the executives' primary role to select and approve the project manager and his able team members. This serves as the first step in executing the great project ahead. The second step is for the newly assigned project manager to formulate the project outline. This serves as the guideline on how the project will be undertaken (Radujković & Sjekavica, 2017). It shows the action plan for the project. It shows the different phased deadlines for the project and how it is expected to progress in the next five years. It also states the specific tasks to be handled and the persons responsible for handling each of them, the quality standards expected, and budgetary allocations for each task and the entire project. The third step is the outline approval stage, where the project manager seeks approval of his outline from the executive management. The executives then consider various factors before giving consent. If the outline is pleasing enough to them, they sign, which serves as a go-ahead for the project manager to start working on the project. The various team members play critical roles in ensuring Top Cruisers comes up with the right product for the touring class. It's enabled by creatively designing the new cruisers, making orders for the various parts needed, assembling the motorcycles, marketing the new product to its niche clientele, and handling customer query to satisfaction. These tasks can be distributed throughout the five years in that the first year encompasses designing the motorcycles. Top cruisers will be majorly involved in ordering the various motorcycle parts and assembling the motorcycles in the second and third years. In the fourth and the final year, Top cruiser will engage in aggressive marketing of the new product using various strategies. This is the time to capitalize on the already existing clientele by selling the latest exciting product and trying to gain new customers.
