Marital aggression, an age-old domicile challenge, has plagued the current generation in unprecedented proportions. Day after day, headlines highlight the matter, and there seems to be little or no solution for the calamity. Regardless of how many efforts both governments and activists try to put in, domestic violence still manages to mock their efforts and soar higher. As such, women and men continue to suffer at the hands of the people they never thought would be the source of their misery and pain. Sadly, most of the victims of domestic violence choose to downplay the matter and thus minimize the chances of them receiving new assistance.
One of the significant problems with domestic violence is that most people only associate domestic violence to the physical assaults that cause apparent injuries. The Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence (2018) however, highlighted other domestic violence forms which encompass isolation, control, sexual abuse, intimidation, verbal, and emotional abuse. Consequently, most people might undergo other forms of domestic violence, but dismiss them merely because they are not physically harmful. It, therefore, goes without saying that sensitization and public awareness of the other forms of domestic violence are highly necessary.
