Leah
Leah is the breadwinner of the family her life cycle outlines she has been through another marriage. Notably, Leah was married to an abusive drunk. Leah got a son with him, Jack whom he acknowledges was his motivation to ask for a divorce from the dysfunctional marriage. Leah has already gone through the first step of leaving her childhood home to live with a new family. She goes through another transition when her abusive husband constantly takes advantage of her. Leah acknowledges that her former husband was the breadwinner and asked her to simply be a housewife, a feat she admits led to increased violence. Ultimately, Leah goes through a crucial life cycle of divorce and eventually leading a remarried life with her new family. Leah is coping with the extensive life cycles by indulging into her work. She felt the need to do more for her family and thus chose to work three jobs to ensure that she did not go through a similar situation as she encountered in her previous marriage.
Jason
Jason is a perfectionist who is still looking for the perfect job. Jason has had the chance to work in low earning jobs such as art galleries but still awaits a mega offer to display his work in the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Jason has gone through a few life cycles such as joining families through marriage as he engages in a serious commitment with Leah. Jason also accepts new family members in the family, though not whole-heartedly as he lives with his step-brother and stepson. Jason is coping with numerous changes by immersing her energy in the garden or painting.
