How do you predict the 2024 will turn out? Why do you think the outcome you predict will occur? Name Institution Course Instructor Date How do you predict the 2024 election will turn out? However, I expect Kamala Harris to win the 2024 American presidential election, not because of a tidal wave of popular support or a revolutionary new agenda. Instead, it will be due to resistance to Donald Trump and the division within the Republican party. The Republican Party is still rife with division and insubordination, especially for the “Never Trump” Republicans who were in no way amenable to Trump’s continued presidency. The internal divisions and the strong negative feelings that Trump inspires will diminish his capacity to achieve the necessary voter coalescence. On the other hand, although many do not hold Harris in high esteem, she is in a position to succeed from the chaos that engulfs the Republican party and the growing inclination by many people in America to have Trump back in power. The win for Harris will not be due to a large love for the policies or leadership she offers. While many voters, including the Democrats, have low enthusiasm for her, rejecting Trump has a motivational effect that will help get most voters to her side (ABC News, 2024). This election will be decided more by emotive characteristics than policy proposing, meaning that people cannot stand Trump and thus will vote for Harris. The outcome should be a rational, self-interested decision. Many citizens reckoned that Harris is still worse than Trump for the US’s future. Why do you think the outcome you predict will occur? I believe Kamala Harris will win primarily due to the deep divisions within the Republican Party. Trump’s candidacy still has its base of supporters, but he, the current President, lost the support of many Republicans who are bored with Trump’s approaches and policies. The “Never Trump” group that comprises the moderate Republicans and conservatives who dislike Trump’s politics will either vote for the Democrats or show low turnout for Trump. If Trump cannot count on the party’s full support, he cannot put enough pressure on Harris to force a change to his advantage and, as a result, the latter wins. The other important aspect that Harris has come up with to support her victory forecast is concern with voter fatigue on the part of the electorate with Donald Trump’s persona in the US political theatre. Four years into Trump’s presidency and the constant controversies that followed it, many people in the United States are just plain tired of the political upheaval that Trump embodies. Some would urge change because they might have supported Trump himself but are aware that the world could be worse off if Trump makes a comeback. As if, they say, flawed or not, Harris can bring back ‘normality’ to daily political life, which is no longer a drama that unfolds with regularity. Lastly, Harris has it because the general elections are most likely made up of the undecided and the moderates. ...
