Review of the Literature
Teachers hold a culture of continuous learning and develop their professional strengths to help the students to achieve in their studies. Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) members tend to be action-oriented and move swiftly to turn aspirations into reality. The PLC concept rests on improving the learning of the students through improved learning practice through providing schools with a framework for building the capacity of teachers to work as collaborative and high performing teams to enhance student learning. An orderly method to intervention is necessary for it to be effective. Teachers perform their roles under specific conditions set by the community thus the requirements include creating teams and providing them with an opportunity to collaborate and provide a curriculum at every level, and each course (Chrispeels & Voelkel Jr, 2017, p. 508). The development of common assessments and the use of evidence facilitate continuous improvement. The school also offers enrichment activities to reinforce student success.
Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) provide an opportunity for students to achieve more by improving the learning environment in schools. However, adequate implementation becomes the difference between a working or a failing PLC.
