a. Drop your paper thesis in the research paper topic dropbox in this folder. by May 12 at 11:55 pm. with three Learning Objectives.
what are learning objectives?
Knowledge: What the reader should know and understand by the time s/he reads the research paper.
It is useful to identify the knowledge the reader should gain by writing "learning objective" sentences that begin:
Reader will be able to . . .
Examples:
identify and trace the development of _____ literature from _____ to _____ (English)
discuss, interpret, and ascribe meaning to the following set of data (Math)
explain global issues related to water (Science)
Each learning objective example above uses a verb which defines a piece of knowledge in a particular area. As you create your learning objectives think in terms of what evidence students would provide to demonstrate a level of mastery of the objective.
b. The paper is due in the Paper drop box under Lessons on May 24
3. Technical details:
A minimum of 4 Pages, objective paper with footnotes and bibliography.
The footnotes and bibliography must be rendered in Turabian style OR MLA. Please use the links below to Turabian citation guides.
You will need at least 4 sources : at least 1 scholarly journal, 1 credible website, one actual book.
what is a scholarly journal? You can find these journals in online research under Proquest or ABI inform. Remember you can access all research databases from home by going to the library section of the WVC site and by clicking on off-campus access.
what is considered a credible website?
Tips for assessing the credibility of online information
Does the Web site provide references for research that can be independently verified?
Are authors identified? Are their affiliations, credentials, and contact information provided?
Who owns or is responsible for the Web site? Is a physical address and complete contact information provided?
Does the site describe its mission? Are staff members identified?
Does the site carry advertising? If it is run by a not-for-profit organization, are its sources of funding identified?
Is the site professional in appearance and quality? How recently has it been updated? Is it free from typographical and grammatical errors?
Based on Stanford Guidelines for Web Credibility.
what is meant by "actual" book? not a text book , but an actual physical book that is relevant to your topic.

Abstract
During the 18th century, Europe explanation idea shaped the thoughts of populaces. In that era, French art the Rococo art method influenced architecture, painting, and sculpture. Previous to the 1700s, Baoque art dominated the art scene with its stress on motion, atmosphere and degrees of light. The bereavement of the ruler of France Louis XIV helped in changing the viewpoint on art, particularly in France, resulting in the start of Rococo group. What began as a movement in the center decoration slowly became built-in into art for much of that period. From the start to the end, Rococo painting gave a new outlook on the picture. In addition, the art also reflected the approaches of the customers who commissioned and displayed the work.
Introduction
A picture as most of the people say is worth a thousand word. The majority of the artists internationally use painting to pass on information. In addition pictures are also used to symbolize important things in society. Use of the art style influences things like stressing emotions, degrees of life as well as the surroundings. The history of art is believed to date back into the ancient times were stone pebbles were used to draw and the style is still growing globally. This paper aims at outlining art and society and how it was used during the Rococo era.
In style and in the subject, Rococo art mirrored the following changes in society. Frivolous topics reigned highest and featuring the upper class and mythical subjects turn out to be the focus of French artists. For instance Watteau’s decorated Fete Venitienne. Boucher focused on mythical topics, as well as his famous work Venus Consoling Love of 1751. Fragonard’s the swing symbolized a deliberate representation of an erotic theme, as it was custom-built by an aristocrat particularly in the aim of infuriating erotic thoughts.["25 The Rococo and the Enlightenment on the Continent ..." Accessed May 18, 2015.Berry, Thomas. "Art in the Ecozoic Era." Art Journal: 46.]
The style used by Rococo artist also reflected the propensity of society. Rocaille meaning rock and coquille connotation shell joint to form the name of the method. The two are employed since shells and rocks were frequently used to beautify gardens and were depicted in the picture of the time also. An exit from the theatrical contrasts of dark and light established in Baroque art, Rococo characterized shimmering light. To outline a light blue color, for instance, the color found in the clothing of the dancer in Watteau’s image, the artist started with a cause of lustrous white, opalescent dye. Then he would put in thin layers of blue and pinnacle it with white things to see. This method allowed for noticeable brushstrokes and provided the painting a sense of touch. Though numerous painters of the former generation had skill with the ingredients of rococo highlighting color, a cheerful method, and close scrutiny but Watteau compounds them into something new.[ / arthp/tours/French/18_cent.htm.]
Further than color, some uniqueness of Rococo comprises S-curves, shells, bat wings, C-curves, miniaturization, mosaic, asymmetrical cartouches and falling water. The figures represented were clothed in stylish garments with slim head, throat and base, and were put in a rural landscape. Artists defined their labor using color as different to sketching them initially, which plead to the intelligence also vital to this age of playfulness. Rococo painting also stressed that all instants are identical and the drawings almost look like a snapshot in that admiration capturing casual instants, not just the most vital ones. Artist also attempted to depict nature as it should be idealizing the sceneries in which the figures were placed. These alterations in artistic methods had dramatic results on both society and science of the 18th century in France.
Just as Rococo drawing was itself overly ornamental, so too was interior beautification. French aristocracy festooned their whole hotel in the similar manner as the drawings were carried out resulting in somewhat over-decorated homes. The erotic sight s pictured in the picture reflected the approaches of the citizens of France. As per the catholic encyclopedia, Rococo art although accepted in areas of the church such as the sacristy, it is not usually favorable. They believed that was not conducive to the religious devotion hence it should not be positioned in prominent areas of the cathedral. The church refusal of Rococo paintings in prominent locations did not discourage the French painter Watteau, Fragonard and Boucher from making drawings in this way.
According to Michael levey in Rococo, to Revolution, the two major reasons why Watteau was important were. First, he expanded the idea of a distinctive artist, not reliant on any other person to shape his character. Second, he builds up the drawing genre for fete gal ante the depiction of Italian comics. Watteau’s pictures centers on a sole psychological instant, and normally focus on musicians, theater or lovers. None of his topics were connected to serious subject matter or religion. For French artists of the 1700s, Watteau demonstrated that an artist could prefer a number of themes and still be looked upon as an important performer. Watteau’s fetes gal antes demonstrated aristocracy in a variety of location. The picture he presented for a receipt to the conservatory in Paris in the year 1717, depict a set of noble couples on a trip. Showcasing Rococo method, the drawing featured profligate, pastel clothing and shapes that are miniature in contrast to the scenery in the setting. The figurine enclosed in flowers mirrors the frivolity of the occasion. Fate venitienne holds a self-portrait of Watteau in the shape the bagpipe actor at the right rim of the image. By setting himself separately from the rest of the civilization pictured in the picture, Watteau stressed his personal condition of mind. In addition, he also identifies himself more with the lower class than the aristocrats.[Mills, Cynthia J. East-West Interchanges in American Art: "a Long and Tumultuous Relationship" Washington, DC: Smithsonian Institution Scholarly Press, 2012]
Subsequent to Watteau, the next vast performer of the Rococo age was his pupil Francis Boucher in 1703 to 1770. In Boucher’s work of art, legendary subjects, not aristocracy, took to the focal point. Venus Consoling love of 1751 featured a naked Venus in the middle of the image with Cupid, her son, at the side. The frontal sham of Venus, with her breasts completely bare and only a sparkling almost clear ...
