The Flavian Amphitheatre forms one of the greatest pieces of Roman history. The building is also known as the Colosseum. The building is essential to Ancient Roman history as it helped to shape ancient Rome civilization.
Roth (1993) offers a complete look at the vital elements that make up the Flavian Amphithetre as one of the leading architecture marvels from Ancient Rome. The Amphitheatre is oval in shape and is constructed at the centre of the city in Rome. It is constructed on tuff, treventine and brick faced concrete. The building begun to be constructed in 72 AD during the reign of Emperor Vespasian and was completed around 80AD during the reign of his successor Titus. The mean reason for constructing the Flavian Amphithetre was for display of various public functions. The common was the gladiatorial contests that served as a piece of games for the public.
