Introduction
In the 13th century Anno Domini, China effectively fell under the rule of the Mongolian Emperor, Genghis Khan. The quest to conquer it began at the beginning of the century, in 1205. By the start of the 14th century, China was under Mongolian occupation, with the Southern Song dynasty being the last Chinese stronghold to fall to the new empire. Genghis Khan had conquered China and forcefully pulled his influence over the Far East nation1. With the conquest of new lands, variations also inevitably take place. The political, social, and economic dynamics of the whole country change when new rulers come to the fore. In a similar fashion, the lives of the Chinese people changed dramatically. In some instances, the Chinese benefited, while the Mongolians had the upper hand most of the times.
