Transformation of the Palestine Liberation Organization: Goals and Means (Research Paper Sample)

Abstract As an important part of the Palestine-Israel peace negotiations, the ideology of the PLO has gradually transformed in the past decades, mainly reflected in recent years in the change of the goals and means of its struggle with Israel. The goals of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) have become more gradual, pragmatic and complicated; armed struggle against Israel is no longer the sole mean for the PLO to lead the liberation movement; instead, moderate means have become the new norm. The transformation of the PLO is still in progress. The holistic picture shows that the PLO is more positive about peace talks with Israel and towards the development of Palestine itself.
