Introduction
Tesco Plc is a British multinational retailer that deals with the general merchandise and groceries. The company is ranked as the third-largest retailer as measured by the aspect of gross revenue. The analysis of the company in terms of both the financial and operating performance forms an important element to the stakeholders i.e. the creditors, government, management and the shareholders. It will be very important in the sense that they will be in a position to make informed decisions. For instance, through the analysis the creditors will be in a position to determine whether the company will in a position to pay for their dues. On the other hand the management will be in a position to establish the amount to pay as dividends to its shareholders. Furthermore, the analysis of both the financial and operating performance facilitates the aspect of comparison with regards to its competitors to be carried out. Therefore, I am going to carry out the analysis of financial and operating performance of Tesco plc in order to establish how the company performed as compared to its competitors and its performance in the Industry in general.
