Introduction
There is a heated debate in different countries on whether the violence depicted in media affects the audience. People can understand the effects of media violence on the audience by using levels of analysis. Psychologists use this approach to check the different impacts of a particular phenomenon on an individual. The approach considers the biological, psychological, and environmental/social effects of something on a person, which dictates how the individual behaves in a given situation. It is not strange to find someone who genuinely believes that violence in the media does not affect him or her but affects other people (Potter 2002). Drawing from research done by different people on the issue, this paper will use the levels of analysis approach to debunk such myths by showing how media violence affects the audience.
Biological Level of Analysis
The biological level of analysis is concerned with the changes that occur in the people’s bodies or those that affect the normal functioning of the body organs.
