Business and society are two interrelated concepts. Business derives its activities and is impacted by the society where it operates. Consequently, the society is the source of livelihood for businesses and without it, the latter cannot exist. On the other hand, the society is served by the business and individuals obtain the necessary goods and services from it. The society also obtains employment as well as social programs undertaken by the business where it operates. Thus, the two systems co-exist to serve the varying needs. Given the inseparability of the business from the society, it is imperative to think of diversity at the workplace and organizational management as some important concepts whose prevalence in the business depends on the society where the former operates (Carroll and Buchholtz 34). Diversity is an attributes that concerns with the different cultural norms, gendered identities, racial differences and other variations in the personnel of an organization that in turn affects relationships and interactions in the workplace. On the other hand, organizational management refers to the way the organizational activities a are planned, organized and controlled as well as the prevailing leadership to enable it to achieve the objectives. Diversity and organizational management are interrelated since they determine the culture of the organization and are highly impacted by the society in which the business exists.
