Factors that shape an individual’s identity
The name of a person, place or city is the primary base of character. National identity is a concept in philosophy; this concept argues that every human being belongs to a given country. Members of the same nation share common factors such as origin and parentage. They celebrate different festivities and holiday that bring them together and are unique to that country. Religious identity is a set of beliefs held by individuals.
The character formed by developing the distinct personality which a person is recognized; it reflects uniqueness from any other persons. Social identities acquired from associations and affiliations .additionally personal identity makes one see them distinct from any other person with different principles and goals. Therefore an individual can identify themselves by name, nationality, religion or even the tribe they belong to (Ashforth 1989, p.24). Moreover, a person can derive their identity from occupation such as a teacher, engineer, nurse or even politician.
