Thesis: The internet plays a very instrumental role in determining the socialisation capabilities of children. It is imperative to note that the internet is part of the mass media that comprise the variant agents of socialisation.
Introduction
There are myriad contemporary elements that contribute to the sociological and language development. T One of these attributes includes the internet. The internet and media are part of the four elements or agents of socialisation and development. It is, therefore, the utmost beneficial concern of addressing the potential of the Internet in influencing the socialisation of children. Young children often integrate with the internet on the daily basis after the cost of accessing the service has reduced significantly (Gonzalez-Mena 2). Accordingly, it is regarded as a part of the lifestyle for these children. Later, its use becomes an instinct. Later, the use results in beliefs and expectations affiliated to consumption. From a professional point of approach, the internet is considered to be an electronic platform that offers instant communication. It is also considered to be a socialising platforms such as the emails, chat services, video streaming and other sites such as Twitter, Orkut amongst others (Gonzalez-Mena 5). Children have shifted their focus to Internet-related aspects of life.
Socialisation is an aspect of life that incorporates co-existence and communication between people. Accordingly, the Internet influences the vocabulary that most children and alternative users acquire when using it. The interfaces established via technology are run via the internet to facilitate long distance communication in prompt instances. Accordingly, generations are becoming well acquainted with the internet as a better means of communication. It is assimilated that the internet makes the globe smaller. That is it condenses it. The same case applies to the children who get the opportunity to use the internet. Most importantly, socialisation comes in when the children use the internet as a platform for communication and learning (Livingstone 1).

Sociological studies affirm that the internet is part of the extensive mass media that influences the development of social skill affirmatively or negatively. Children from urban and internet enabled environments tend to familiarise with the computers even without the intervention of the adults. There are differentiated beliefs and ideologies associated with the children’s integration with the internet. Different psychological and sociological analysis depict that the internet greatly affects and influences the social norms of children (Gonzalez-Men3). The most effective change is when it occurs to the children. The children tend to learn new ways of relating to each other. Children do what they see or think to be appropriate. Fortunately or unfortunately, some of the attributes gathered from the internet information sources may vary in terms of character formation. Therefore, the children may not only be influenced by a dimension but also change their demeanour in terms of personal integration with amongst themselves.
There are myriad impulses that related directly with socialisation as a subject of the internet especially with regards to children. First, children have access to devices that support Internet interfaces. Secondly, the global level of intelligence is proving hard to crack especially with the rampant discarding of toys for internet related activities amongst the children. It is imperative to note that across the world, children are suffering similar effects as far as integration with the Internet is concerned (Swinarski, Matthew E., Diane H. Parente, and Kathleen 32). Similarly, the impacts associated with internet and children’s socialisation are similar. The research is keen to demonstrate the extent in which internet influences the children especially with regards to socialisation. From the thematic and thesis conclusion, it is true that the children are affected by the internet sociologically and socially.
Areas in which children’s use of the internet influences their social traits
The internet is said to be a hub if enormous things. The vast nature of the internet grants it the ability to host different correspondents with regards to the factor of benefiting from the internet. The section intends to explain different valid areas where children use or interact with the internet. Concurrently, it expresses the extent in which these particular areas are influential in regulating the socialisation levels by children.
Social media
The social media is the most dominant area on the internet where children benefit or integrate with the internet. Most importantly, there are other sub-fields that are affiliates of the social media. For example, there exists YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Skype, and Chat applications amongst others that children are well acquainted with. All these applications and sites are developed to enhance eased communication between peers amongst other categories of people. The internet hosts them and makes it possible for people from diverse locations across the world to use them for the purpose of relating. Accordingly, the children use them to communicate with each other. Some of the friends whom they communicate with are from different cultures.
Chatting amongst children is found to be fun. In most cases, the children tend to express and share their ideas online. These ideas may include jokes, beliefs and even make chanting voices if they are using voice-enabled applications such as Skype. The first affirmative attribute of using the internet amongst the children in this platform is that they can share ideas. That means that the exchange of ideas builds the children’s integrity, vocabulary, as well as encourages the children to appreciate themselves (Swinarski, Matthew E., Diane H. Parente, and Kathleen 28). Accordingly, the increased level of integrity developed through socialisation makes it easy for the children to socialise. Further, the children manage to improve on the level of vocabulary. A rich vocabulary constitutes the child’s ability and confidence to express himself or herself amongst the rest of the children. Recent research indicates that the social media contributes to adorable, as well as, unacceptable terms that children use to express themselves. For instance, these children can make affiliated gender chats. These chats entice them and create an educative forum especially where the issue of gender difference exists. It is within these chats that knowledge is passed on to the children.
