Thesis: The internet plays a very instrumental role in determining the socialisation capabilities of children. It is imperative to note that the internet is part of the mass media that comprise the variant agents of socialisation.

The internet and media are part of the four elements or agents of socialisation and development. It is, therefore, the utmost beneficial concern of addressing the potential of the Internet in influencing the socialisation of children. Young children often integrate with the internet on the daily basis after the cost of accessing the service has reduced significantly (Gonzalez-Mena 2). Accordingly, it is regarded as a part of the lifestyle for these children. Later, its use becomes an instinct. Later, the use results in beliefs and expectations affiliated to consumption. From a professional point of approach, the internet is considered to be an electronic platform that offers instant communication. It is also considered to be a socialising platforms such as the emails, chat services, video streaming and other sites such as Twitter, Orkut amongst others (Gonzalez-Mena 5). Children have shifted their focus to Internet-related aspects of life.
Socialisation is an aspect of life that incorporates co-existence and communication between people. Accordingly, the Internet influences the vocabulary that most children and alternative users acquire when using it. The interfaces established via technology are run via the internet to facilitate long distance communication in prompt instances. Accordingly, generations are becoming well acquainted with the internet as a better means of communication. It is assimilated that the internet makes the globe smaller. That is it condenses it. Similarly, the impacts associated with internet and children’s socialisation are similar.
