Long term effects of abortions
Abortion is a process that is medical in ending a pregnancy so as it does not result to a birth of a child. This is when a pregnancy is terminated either through the taking of medical path or through a surgical procedure. The abortion is a stressful event in one’s life and to that of the close family members and even friends. Everyone involved in this act of abortion is affected directly or indirectly. Abortion is done to safeguard the life of a mother. The quality of the mother’s life after the abortion is the one that is looked at. Induced abortions have got direct and indirect negative effects on the mothers who had aborted. These negative effects are both short term and long term. The long term effects are more devastating. These long term effects include; substances abuse, cancer, infertility, post abortion syndrome and sexual dysfunction.
Substances abuse
Substances abuse affects most women who had an abortion than the pregnant women or those who have children or given birth. Exceptions do happen for those women who still reside with the dad of the aborted baby hence are not faced with any risk of abuse of substances. The study that was done indicated that abuse of substances is twice more than those who never aborted. Notably, not all women have had an abortion are drug addicts, but for those who have aborted and take drugs, they just abuse themselves so much than their counter part. The woman remains alone, trying her best to cope with the situation as the two teams continue to fight. Sexual dysfunction
Dysfunction is another effect that is brought about by abortion.
