Introduction
The ecological environment in every place is considered essential to people since it allows for human survival and development which are necessary for progression. However, it becomes inappropriate when people cannot afford comfortable life and develop their surroundings. Such a move calls for the creation of a sustainable environment that allows for human existence and establishment. Despite the need for sustainability, social and economic developments have negatively impacted on the environment in the process of developing, which instead threatens further sustainability. For instance, the ecological aspects of a city are vital in considering the changes and development projects that have to be carried out to enhance human survival have exhibited threats to the surrounding. In such regard, the concept of eco-city was derived in ensuring the utilization of sustainable development principles as well as the ecological economics (Joss et al., 2015). The structuring involved urban economic approach of promoting change so that the environmental quality and standards can be improved with the aim of taking hold of the city's intention of mechanical layout adjustment. For example, through general planning and promotion of large developments to realize sustainable socio-economic developments were involved in the strategies. Therefore, the proposal allows for research on the construction of the ecological city and sustainable developments.
Problem statement
Urbanization has always indicated the rate of development and progression in a country. Although sheer scale and rapid urbanization are signs of expansion, they pose great problems that have different implication on the environment.

Sustainable developments in eco-cities have become a matter of importance considering the rapid rate of urbanization that has led to increased social, economic and environmental pressures. Such a consideration necessitates for the adoption of new strategies in realizing sustainability of urban developments, which will take care of the potential growth (Caprotti, 2014).
2.0 Chapter Two
Literature Review
Construction of ecological city
In the building of eco-cities, various aspects are considered in the development. For instance, the principles of sustainable development, people's orientation, economic, social and ecological benefits from the coordinated development that is essential to the construction process. As well, environmental protection, and economic development principles, local conditions, overall planning are instituted in eco-cities. However, the development projects in a city will include industrial, forestry, culture, tourism, energy, landscape, and environmental engineering projects that are essential in the construction (Graedel, 2011). Such elements are concerned with the implication of an eco-efficiency requirement based on the ecological factors, circular economic theories, designs of sustainability used for the establishment of clean energy projects. The projects take into consideration alternative and new energies to reduce its consumption as well as the ecological damage.
Ecological functioning zones of urban economies
The ecological function zoning with regards to the economic functions can be classified into different categories. For instance, the human ecological zone that reflects on the region's cultural connotation, which any city should have so as to protect the historical and cultural heritage. In such a way, a vibrant urban culture, nature's promotion, and landscape integration are achievable. As well, the ecological agricultural development sector is important in promoting environmental balance in the city, which will minimize possible solution and enhance economic expansion (Fook, 2010). Besides, the ecological, economic coordination areas, where all resources needed for economic enhancement will facilitate environmental protection and utilize radiations in the promotion of eco-city developments (Harvey, 2011). More so, the cultivation of ecological protection area is sensitive to the environment since it lowers the level of industrial concentration while discouraging intensive economic development. However, the sect is significant in the improvement of ecological capacities in the city.
Ecological problems from urbanization
Some of the challenges that are experienced in urban areas are simply due to unawareness of the occupants about the environmental implications. However, during the development of eco-cities, there are always concerns about the improvement of the economic construction productivity. Such a concern is often emphasized on production value while ignoring the protection of the environment through proper planning and infrastructural enhancement (Pearce, 2011). For instance, the extended traffic jams, dirt in the city, and violent chaos among other examples of degradation should be taken into account. In such a case, there is a higher requirement to attain quality life from the gradually accelerating, ecological, and environmental challenges that have increased focus on the environmental protection. As well, the capital inputs have been regulated in trying to resolve the problem of urban ecology.
Besides, environmental pressures have been experienced from the expansion of urban cities. In that, the cities are not able to meet the functional needs of the rising population, the pace of urbanization, agricultural and industrial developments in waste disposal in attaining purification measures. The functionality of the eco-cities impacts on the structure that changes the characterization of the growing population, and attitudes of the people towards the demands for products and resources. The increasing need for the urban dwellers builds up more pressure in the environment, especially in the aspect of economic growth that has many negative environmental implications (Kenworth, 2011). Much more, the unlimited growth in the eco-city increases wastages on land resources and land utility, which reduces the total arable area. As a result, desertification crops in the city as a consequence.
On the other hand, demographic expansions, increased demand for the natural vegetative cover and high demands for food so as to meet the human population in the urban areas facilitates the destruction of the natural ecosystem (Joss et al., 2011). Such a move becomes inevitable as people compete for the land resources so as to improve productivity. As well, with the expanded populace, housing becomes a significant issue that has to be addressed. Such a move calls for the increased burden on land as a resource. For instance, construction of more schools, hospitals, and other public facilities, this will cater for the living people's demands. However, the changing needs of occupants come along with tensions in the ecosystem that enhance a range of problems, like many toxic emissions, social insecurity, unemployment, over-consumption of energy and challenges in the transportation system (Erwing, 2009). Therefore, the aftermath of the processes is likely to trigger the global warming process and deteriorated human health.

Methodology
In the methodology, various research methods are instituted to help in the analysis of the impacts of realizing sustainable developments in the ecological cities. Such an approach assists in the meaningful and practical performance of the study.
