Research Method Regarding Mass Shooting and Gun Violence
Methodology
* Overview Of Methodological Research Approach
This research will examine how gun policies and laws influence mass shootings and violence. In this case, the hypothesis was: There is a positive relationship between gun laws or policies and mass shootings and gun violence. A causal relationship exists between policies the government sets (local, state, or federal), mass shootings, and gun violence. In this case, the researcher aims to show how gun policies can mitigate violence and mass shootings among citizens. Since the researcher will explore a quantitative study, the data required to investigate the relationship between gun laws, mass shootings, and violence would be quantitative. A quantitative research method will involve the researcher collecting numerical data and analyzing how policies affect mass shootings and gun violence. Significantly, the researcher will find patterns of mass shootings and violence involving guns before making predictions. Also, quantitative research will ensure the researcher conducts causal relationships while generalizing the findings to the whole population in the US since gun violence and mass shootings affect not one state but all of them in the country.
The Research Design
The researcher will use an experimental study design to examine the cause-and-effect relationship between policies, mass shootings, and gun violence. In this case, the researcher will develop different procedures to test the hypothesis: There is a positive relationship between gun laws or policies and mass shootings and gun violence. Essentially, the researcher will consider the variables, independent being gun laws or policies and dependent being mass shootings and gun violence. Then the individual will design treatments, manipulating gun policies as independent variables. Later,
