Should vehicles (cars, trucks, vans, SUVs) be required to have backup cameras?
I chose this second question because it deals with safety as well. There are vehicles and trucks which are mainly used for entrepreneurial purposes (Thomas & Jund, 2013). In this case, there are those that are used to transport expensive goods and at some point anything such as a robbery may happen. Backup cameras in this case will be used to ensure that such incidents do not occur. For personal cars, carjacking may take place and backup cameras will be useful in case this incident moves to the court. It will be easier to uphold those involved. Cases in court will easily be handled because of ready evidence that makes it possible to get the individuals who caused the situations in question. This also gives a clear impression that cases involving cars will always be dealt with, within a short time, enabling other cases to be dealt with on time as well. These are among the issues affecting individuals who are using vehicles and backup cameras can be of great help to solve problems associated with them (Bhise, 2011).
Thesis Statement: Vehicles are required to have backup cameras so that incase of any serious incident, the file footages can be used where necessary.
Audience Characteristics
My audience for this topic includes stakeholders in the transport industry such as taxi operating companies, track companies and individuals. The major characteristics of the audience for this topic are that they are all involved in the transport sector in directly or indirectly. Whether transporting goods, passengers or driving personal cars; everyone is vulnerable to attacks, robberies, hijacking and other risks including accidents.
In addition, the audience has a choice to decide on the use of backup cameras. Despite this not being a recommendation, the audience is not restricted on installing backup cameras on their trucks or cars. The audience also have the decision making power as they can influence their legislators to adopt this requirement. This would ensure the safety of every person on the road.
Scope of Essay
The scope of this essay will include an introduction on why the current topic is of importance to the audience. The advantages of installing backup cameras on every vehicle on the road will also be discussed including ensuring safety, the ability to minimize crime and helping in tackling cases of crime on the highway including violation of traffic rules. The paper will also put suggestions on the way the project should be undertaken, the control systems that should be involved whether centralized or individualized data backup.
