INTRODUCTION
I. You are running out of time. There is approximately 30 minutes until you are late for your evening class. You have to finish getting ready and have your dinner before going for your lecture as it ends late and you have an early day tomorrow. Wouldn’t you want to learn a simple way of cooking noodles that are a favorite meal for many people and yet nutritious, tasty and filling?
II. Today I’m going to use a seven step method to show you the simplest yet the most effective way to cook noodles.
III. I have been eating noodles for most years of my life as this is one food item that was never a miss in our household. During these time, I did not only get to love the noodles as my favorite food item but learnt from my mother the simplest and quickest way to prepare the food when pressed for time.
IV. I will use simple phrases to show the beginning of each step that I believe you will remember with ease.
Transition: first, let us take a look at step number one, boiling water with a pinch of salt
BODY
1. Boil enough water and add a pinch of salt. Have enough water in a saucepan and simple add a pinch of salt. Bring the water to a boil while covered. This should take at least five minutes
Transition: Add the noodlesII. The next thing you want to do is to add the noodles once the water is boiling. Gently ensure that you completely submerge every noodle strain into the salty boiling water. This is to allow for it to cook evenly. The essence of having the water boils before adding the noodles is to avoid getting soggy cooked noodles
Transition: You now want to be patientIII. Normally it will take an average of about 12 minutes for noodles to be well cooked. However, cooking instructions may differ therefore kindly refer to the packaging for recommended time. As the noodles boil and cook, you can be sorting out your books, getting ready as you wait.
Transition: Test your noodlesIV. Test one noodle before removing your saucepan of noodles from the fire. The simplest of ways will be to throw your noodle at the wall and see if it sticks. It sounds stupid but it actually works very well. Therefore if the noodle sticks, then it is ready.
Transition: Drain your noodlesV. You now want to drain all the water from the noodles and this is best achieved using a colander with is very effective. However, if you do not have this, just cover with the lid and pour out the water retaining the noodles in the saucepan.
