Statistical article review
This statistical article review was based on critical success factors in supply chain management. The author’s primary goal was to examine and discover in what way technological or industrial firms make use of supply chain management to raise success in business and to improve advantages in competition and the factors that hinders their successful application in management of chain supply(Li, S., Ragu-Nathan, B., Ragu-Nathan, T. S., & Rao, S. S.2006).
In this article, the author has focused on high technological companies that are about 100 based in California, USA, this makes up the population(Li, S., Ragu-Nathan, B., Ragu-Nathan, T. S., & Rao, S. S.2006). However, the number of companies that were willing to take part in this large quantitative survey was few only five. Statistically, population size which is usually denoted by (N) was 100 companies, this is the total number of companies that the research was to cover. The sample size that is denoted by (n) was 5, this were the total number of companies that the research was actually conducted (Li, S., Ragu-Nathan, B., Ragu-Nathan, T. S., & Rao, S. S.2006).
In the article, the author’s research was more of observation. This is because he administered mostly face-to-face interview with the respondents but the respondents do always give out answers of what they feel. The help of several case study methods carried out Hench this experiment by the use of controlled interviews with questionnaire(Li, S., Ragu-Nathan, B., Ragu-Nathan, T. S., & Rao, S. S.2006)
The article is very interesting, this is because it outline on how several large companies strive to outdo each other to come up with a more improved invention and innovation just to gain market in the highly competitive business environment. It outlines approaches that the industries take when there is a problem so that they may stay relevant in business (Li, S., Ragu-Nathan, B., Ragu-Nathan, T. S., & Rao, S. S.2006).
In the article, I understood the statistical concepts and techniques that the author used. Excel database was developed to improve the reliability and legitimacy of the data. Statistical data from the questioners were presented in the database and analysis of the case study was carried out (Li, S., Ragu-Nathan, B., Ragu-Nathan, T. S., & Rao, S. S.2006)
The author made good use of SAS software (statistical analysis system) that is used to analyze and give report on data of a wide range. The statistical analysis indicated that companies come up with new technological ideas every day to improve the quality the product they produce and compete favorably to the technological market. In addition, the borrowing of technological ideas is much frequent among the technological firms. The current trends in technology are that there are improvements in regular products produced (Li, S., Ragu-Nathan, B., Ragu-Nathan, T. S., & Rao, S. S.2006)
The type of data analyzed in the used article was quantitative data. This is because the data attempted to qualify the test of hypothesis, used survey, and administered questioners to collect data in this article. The author chose to present the analyzed data using graphs to outline the i...
