This touching and yet beautiful piece shows the emotional sincerity of the author and guessing from the title, he expresses great loss over the princess. It therefore can be categorized under expressionism. This piece is a slow dance that brings is played to express different emotions, from the loss of a loved one, romantic feelings, or just simply inner peace (Gayen-Ghosh et al. 2021, April). In the 20th century, despite the somber mood that this piece brings out, this music can help ease one’s thoughts as one wonders about the innate meaning of life. It is a soulful tune that makes the inner being feel delicate and melancholic yet brings immense peace. William Grant Still- Suite for Violin and Piano,1. African Dancer This piece spells professionalism and expertise right from the beginning. It shows a great understanding between an instrument and the artist. A special kind of bond that is rear and unique. This is seen in the way the violin and piano are all played with such feeling and skill.
