Leaders Are Born Not Made Social Sciences Term Paper (Term Paper Sample)

Instructions:

INTRODUCTION
The precept that leaders are born comes with the managerial impetus to identify and select the right people for leadership rather than creating a platform for recruitment which avails equal opportunities for all to prove themselves through training in the making of leaders. It is true that some leadership characteristics are inherent since at birth.
The questions arises whether these are the only characteristics which a truly great leader needs, whether the traits can be acquired through training, whether there are other important characteristics or traits attributable to a leader, if all inherent “born with” characteristics of a leader and those acquired through training have to work together to create a wholesome leader and if they are as crucial as the characteristics attained or acquired through training.
The first and foremost critical step in the inquest into the protagonist is to clearly understand the nature of leadership to be imbued with greater access to power and authority over the followers, with which a greater expectation to deliver quality, justice, ethics and accountability in decision making about arising situations, imposes a greater requirement of responsibility on the incumbent.
