Policy for Cancer Management
Cancer has caused a considerable number of problems for many people in the society today. Nations of the world are suffering immensely following the excessive cases of cancer among the old and young alike. Environmental contamination and genetics are the major causes of the disease. However, research is yet to prove the reason for the increased prevalence of the condition in the twenty-first century. Genetic mutations were previously the main risk factors for cancer development. Only people with such mutations were at the danger of developing the disease. However, as a result of the increasing number of environmental factors, everyone has become susceptible to cancer. Other than the emotional and physical challenges associated with the disease, the available cancer treatment options are extremely expensive for ordinary citizens. Developing an Inter-professional collaborative policy to improve the quality of care for cancer patients will go a long way in reducing both mortality and morbidity rates associated with the disease while ensuring that the affected people live comfortable lives.[Mehmet Copur, “State of Cancer Research around the Globe,” Oncology 33, no. 5 (2019): 3.]
