Purpose and values of the Case Study.
Marks and Spencer Company started back in 1884 in the United Kingdom and it is in existence up to now. The primary purpose of Marks and Spencer case study is customer satisfaction by enabling provision of quality products and services (Stanley 1991). This is also facilitated by selection and application of the right tools and techniques such as PEST and SWOT analysis for strategic management. Other purposes include;
Working on diversity. The case study believes that the individual differences makes them stronger, thus they encourage everyone to be who they want to be. Everyone has different capabilities, abilities that can be used to increase productivity and competitive advantage if embraced.
Women empowerment. This is to promote women progress in the society. M and S launched the first women’s network in 2014 to provide mentorship and networking chances. Through the networks they get to meet other role models and have a platform to assist them in addressing their career challenges (M&S People Principles, 2019). With this the organization benefits through additional skilled labor to help in management functions.
